What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractors highlight the importance of homeostasis and natural healing mechanisms within the human body. Health problems such as back pain, headaches, migraines, neck pain or fatigue are often the symptoms of the interference with the body’s own homeostasis.
The role of a Chiropractor is to analyze the spine and correct its dysfunction through spinal adjustments and exercise without the use of drugs or surgery, which improves neurophysiological function and one’s overall health. Treatment also includes education, exercises, rehabilitation and dietary changes.
Chiropractic is the largest and most regulated branch of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and third largest, after medicine and dentistry, the healthcare profession in the world.
Why?
By addressing structural and biomechanical problems of the musculoskeletal system one can facilitate the proper function of the nervous system which controls all joints, organs and cells of the body. This can help with common complaints which are more likely to be a result of a deeper problem and are usually interconnected.
The main goals of Roots Chiropractic Therapy are:
– understand the drivers of a patient’s complaint
– educate the patient about their problem
– reduce pain and symptoms
– improve function
– improve tolerance to physical and mental stress to enable the patient to look after their own problem and be less reliant on medication and be in control of their health.
We use techniques:
– Medical history analysis
– Orthopaedic and neurological physical examination
– Postural analysis, Diversified technique
– Sacro-Occipital Technique, Gonstead
– Instrument Assisted Fascial Mobilisation
– Gait analysis and Orthotics
– Stomatognathic System analysis (dental occlusion, jaw joints + neck)
– Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization rehabilitation approach
– Xray, MRI, ultrasound referrals and analysis
– Applied Kinesiology, Flexion-Distraction?
